General Troubleshooting Tips
For the best performance, we recommend using the Gather 2.0 Desktop App. Download the latest version here.
If using Gather on a desktop browser:
Switch to Google Chrome if you’re not using it already. (Our recommended browser.)
Refresh or restart the browser.
Update the browser if it has a pending software update.
Clear your browser cache.
Close other browser tabs.
Disable unnecessary browser extensions (or use Incognito/Private mode in your browser)
Leave and re-enter your Gather workspace.
Close other applications you have open.
Disable VPN/Firewall or ask your IT to whitelist Gather.

Performance Issues
The first thing to do is check your Performance Settings. Open the Main Menu and go to Settings > Performance.
Generally, we recommend keeping the Automatic performance adjustment setting enabled so Gather can adjust for optimal performance. We switch performance modes for conditions such as high CPU temperature, high CPU load, or low laptop battery.
If you’re experiencing ongoing issues, try turning Automatic performance adjustment off and manually selecting Efficient mode.
WARNING
Only turn off Hardware Acceleration if you’ve tried everything else or are using a very weak graphics card. Review System Requirements here.
Audio/Video Issues
Use the Gather 2.0 Desktop App. (Recommended for best performance.)
Disable any unnecessary browser extensions (or use Incognito/Private mode in your browser).
Check VPN/Firewall settings.
Close any other applications that use your mic or camera.
Move closer to your router if possible.
